Q) How much is a private eye examination?

A) The private examination fee is charge is £29.00.

Q) Do you offer free NHS eye examinations?

A) Yes, if you are over 60, have diabetes, family history of glaucoma or if you receive an appropriate benefit.

Q) How long will it be before I will be seen for an eye examination?

A) Generally, appointments can be offered within a few days of an enquiry.

Q) Why is having an eye examination important?

A) An eye examination not only checks all aspects of your vision and ocular health, but it can also detect general health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Q) At what age can children be tested?

A) It is recommended for children to have an eye examination before they start school. If you have any concerns, children of any age can be examined. 

Q) What is OCT?

A) OCT – Ocular Coherence Tomography is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to illustrate the different layers that make up the back of your eye. The OCT machine captures both a fundus photograph and a cross-sectional scan of the back of the eye at the same time.
